Two years ago I never thought I'd be an Ashton Kutcher fan. He's a big goof-ball who does goof-ball roles in goof-ball movies and may or may not be punking us all with a marriage to Demi Moore.
As one of the few celebs who actual tweets their own.. uh.. tweets, Ashton reveals a lot about who he is at twitter.com/aplusk. He twitpics camera phone pics of his wife, the ice cream he's eating and Beyonce. He posts videos about what he's doing at Qik. He's real with his wife. But this, THIS, is the reason I think he's adorable.
I now see Ashton in a whole different light. Suddenly his goof-ball antics mean he's not trying to put on an "I'm an important celebrity" routine. When John Mayer tweets that he and Ashton should have a tweet-up and Ashton replies that they should, but have it be a service project of some kind- I realize he's using the power of his celebrity, coupling it with social media and rocking the hell out of it. He's bringing awareness to global issues, promoting his multiple projects and yet managing to be all the more likeable for it. I'm really really impressed with the way he's using his influence while sharing who he is with the public*.
*even if I do sort of still think we're being punk'd.

Ashton has made twitter history by becoming the first member to amass a million followers with the help of his coug-wife Demi & buddies. The race was between Ashton & CNN News. Ashton took the victory by about 1200 followers. Forever the humanatarian he donated $100,000 to the "Malaria No More Fund" and … more
