I frequented the Sacramento restaurant often when I was a student at UC Davis - mostly for friend's birthday dinners. They give you free bread (which is amazing BTW), we'd ordered some mojitos and one entree each... however our entree rarely got touched since it was more of a social environment and we just drank cocktails and ate the bread.

I've only tried the pastas and salads here - and the first thing I have to say about them is that the portions are ridiculous.  Realistically, the portions they serve you are enough to feed three people (and for me, it does last me three meals).  I mean, I've never had any complaints about how the food tastes (which I think is a reason why I do come back), but honestly The Cheesecake Factory can single-handedly be responsible for obesity amongst middle class Americans.  No one should ever eat that much in one meal.

The cheesecakes here are to die for, but once again, no one should eat one slice of their cheesecake by themselves.

I mentioned Cheesecake Factory to my coworkers in London when I spent a year there.. they agreed that it was quality...but apparently after their family shared an appetizer they were full and didn't want their main course anymore.

I totally agree. The cheesecakes are to die for. I particularly like the apple caramel cheesecake and anything with chocolate in the ingredients. The cheeseburgers are also delicious but the portions are gigantic. I barely have any room for cheesecake after finishing one of their dinners.

This may be the only chain restaurant (excluding certain fast food joints and high-end steakhouses; okay, and one yogurt chain) that I really enjoy again and again. And you're right on the cheesecakes--amazing.

There aren't any CF in BC where I live, so my first taste was in Vegas. The line up was crazy long but that's what attracted us. It MUST be good if the line is so long, right? And true enough, it was indeed good. I think the key here is reasonable prices and relatively nice atmosphere. So, in contrast to some of the other reviews I really like the Cheesecake Factory. I like the fact that they have a long menu that includes different types of food.  Whatever mood I am in I can always find something that takes my fancy. Its not supposed to be gourmet dining but I think the food is really good. I don't think I have ever had anything I didn't like, nor did my fellow diners. Cheesecake is my favorite desert, but I really don't like The Cheesecake Factory. Food costs are rising. A meal at Morton's is now $200 without wine. P F Chang's is shrinking their portion sizes to keep up. I used to go here quite often, as I lived practically a stones throw away.  Unfortunately now its a little bit farther, but I still make the effort because my favorite dish (the Chicken Madeira) is simply not the same anywhere else. I have dined at the Boston and Burlington (MA) locations as well as Winter Park in Florida. I have also attempted to dine at the Peabody location - unsuccessfully (the wait was ridiculous).
