Tom Cruise & Scientology = Crazy

I used to like Tom Cruise.  But now I don't.  As soon as he joined Scientology he became a crazy crazy guy!  He jumps on coaches, professes his love to everyone and in general is off his rocker.  But hey, can you blame a guy that has all the money in the world, marries my future wife and thinks that chemical imbalances really don't exist!

 

Now I could tell you my all the weird things about him, but there are sites dedicated to it.

I really don't know why he went off his rocker, but I do think he is crazy.  One day I think we will find him in a nice institution where he WILL be receiving Psychiatric care.

Scotty has a point there. 3 reviews in a row just ragging on people does say something about the person who wrote them. On the other hand Cruise is such an easy target that even I can't help wanting to take a swing at him. He is so pompous about his beliefs, and he readily puts himself out there by lecturing others on national television about medical subjects that are a little outside his area of expertise, so he shouldn't be surprised when it all comes back at him--and neither should anyone else.

I see your other reviews also bash celebrities. Curious about this hate campaign. You say Tom "just joined" but in fact had been a member since Top Gun. I don't see how accessing a hate site will help me understand this actor. I've seen several of his films and think if he wants to tell people what he thinks, he has a perfect right to do so. He is against psychiatric drugging of women with post partem psychosis. Why would you be against that? Drugging women is better? Hmmmm. Says a lot about the commentator. Poor review.

I gotta agree with your opinion of the whole hate thing that people seem to be into these days, it's a drag to read stuff that just ridicules people or rags on them for no reason other than the fact that the author enjoys doing it. One target? Go to it, have fun. But making a habit of it is boring.

On the other hand Cruise is SUCH an easy target.

Actually chemical imbalances don't exist. Psychiatrists have said so; there's no real chemical proof. Your facts are wrong -- he got into Scientology well before "Top Gun." I would rather not read sites that are "dedicated" to character assassination. No thanks.

Actually Scotty, a lot of psychiatrists DO say so which is why they prescribe medication.

Outstanding, highly underrated actor. In my personal pantheon of movie stars - not necessarily actors, but STARS - Cruise ranks second only to Paul Newman.

It's hard to deny that Tom Cruise is a pretty talented actor.  He is.  But unfortunately when you become a big star--especially as big as Tom Cruise is--you start to lose a private life.  And your actions become more important to people than the work itself.  Sure, we can berate Tom Cruise for his stunt on Oprah, his fascination with Scientology that goes a little beyond crazy at times... but deep down you still have to remember that this guy did do such classic films as Risky …

It's amazing how people overlook someone's career and the whole reason they're in the public eye in the first place when that person does something they don't agree with.  Tom Cruise is one of the best actors of this generation and that deserves acknowledgement.  Yeah, maybe people don't agree with his beliefs and maybe he has made some poor choices of how to behave in public (chuckle), but he still is very good at what he does and I think its a shame that his ability to have successful …

Movie stars don't get any bigger than Tom Cruise - limitless money and international fame.  He is an Oscar worthy actor, and deserved one for Fourth of July (just bad luck/timing that he had to battle Daniel Day Lewis / My Left Foot).  There's no way that kind of money/fame and power won't have a dramatic effect on your general psyche.  That said, many superstars of his caliber have managed to grow and age very gracefully (see Paul Newman and Robert Redford).  It's a heart breaker …

I've been entertained by every Tom Cruise movie I've seen since 2000. Additionally, I've watched some more than once. He's a good actor. Actors are all crazy anyway.
