One of the Brightest, Most Talented,Up and Coming Stars Today...
May 12, 2009
I know it's pretty early in his career, but I have a feeling that Quinto is going to be around for a while. He has only had three really large roles, his first was as Adam Kaufman on 24, one of the analysts at CTU. Obviously his second big role (definitely his biggest TV role) is as Sylar on Heroes. But his biggest undertaking so far has to be Spock. To be such a...I don't want to say newcomer, but that really is what he is to the business, this is almost a make or break for him despite his popularity from Heroes.
When you think of Spock, you think of Leonard Nimoy who in all honesty never really did anything after Trek (except the add for the city of Boston before an IMAX movie at the Science museum),which then gets you thinking about Captain Kirk and then onto Trek itself which has over forty years of history. So taking up the mantle of Spock had to put a little bit of pressure on him (Despite the fact that I think he absolutely nailed it).
When it all comes down to it though, Zachary Quinto is a very talented actor whom I have come to realize might be one of my favorites right now. I mean he pulls off the guy you love to hate as Sylar (even though everyone actually loves him) and he has taken the character of Spock and made it his own awesome animal. So this Bud's for you Zachary Quinto (though I will never ever give anybody a Bud willingly) for being that actor who chooses to take on the risky projects.
