This band... I can't say enough good and there really, honestly, is nothing bad to say.
I came upon them one night in my travels across the suggestions in I-Tunes. Most of the time the suggestions are way off for my tastes. This time they were right on!
Every once in a while in music, you find a band where you can appreciate something in every single song on the CD. The last time I experienced that was with Coldplay.
It's been a long time baby!
I feel like these songs are a part of my psyche... It is the kind of sound that get's inside and never leaves you. They are the Led Zeppelin, The Rolling stones, The Who, of this generation. Where most things are fleeting and fly by night fads these days. This music stands out, holds its own and makes a difference.
I enjoy every single track, on every single CD.
These are not newcomers to the music scene either. They have been around. Im so glad that I caught up with the times and found these guys...
I recently took my 16 year old son to his very first concert to see the Kings... They are his favorite band and mine as well and he doesn't mind admitting that at all. That... Is how good this band is.
My favorite tracks are. Frontier City, Sex on Fire, Manhatten, Cold desert and Arizona.
Strangely enough... Arizona is a song about a whore house, a whore and a fight. But it is one of the most melodic and haunting pieces of music I have ever had the pleasure of hearing... It dances on my eardrum and even after hearing it 100 times. I still hit the back button and listen to it just one more time.
The lyrics can be a little much for some tastes. But I appreciate honesty in a raw form, I appreciate sexual innuendo and ambiguous intent for exactly what it is. I am after all a poet. So I just get it...
I think I may have had the Kings of Leon in my itunes library for about two years before I ever really listened to any of their music. Shocker, I know. Thinking back now, I can't fathom how I could have overlooked such awesomeness. Their sound is what has been described by those (presumably) in the know as southern rock, particularly in their earlier work ... although a foray into other influences such as blues and alternative rock are evident in their later albums. I've never been … more
