Great guide book to pass on

Going into my third pregnancy, I find the information in this book to be short and concise, but gives you specifics about the approximate timing of your baby's development -- when the heart starts to beat; when the eyes form; when the baby should be moving, etc. Though I'm a seasonal mom its been a while since my last pregnancy (8 years) so its great to re-cap on what my body is going through (again). Plus I fine it pretty cool that tracks pregnancy symptoms, such as nose bleeds, constipation, swelling, etc. I found this guide to be extremely helpful and found that my pregnancy almost perfectly aligned with many of the entries. It was a great comfort to read along and think, "Yeah, that just happened to me" and to know that I could ask my doctor about things the journal mentioned (such as blood tests) at the right time. Again, I don't think the journal is meant to be super-specific and detailed; it's a guide that acts as a supplement to your own relationship with your doctor. As for the amount of space to journal I never wished for more room to write (in fact, sometimes I left a column blank because not much had changed during the previous week). I think this comes down to personal preference, rather than a fault of the journal itself. If you're a writer and want to detail every single moment, then consider another journal.

Aside from that, I find the journal extremely useful and very encouraging. It's just enough information without being overwhelming, and it works as a great resource and companion to my doctor's visits. It also lets me write down those important moments in my pregnancy that I want to remember and look back on.

This journal is great to plot out your pregnancy observations and to go along with how you are feeling. I think the best thing about this book is after you deliver and then go back and look at the things you have since forgotten. What a great way to have fun and enjoy then pregnancy and then to have the long-lasting memoir of my pregnancy to reflect upon later in life. I highly recommend it.

My daughter Krista was born November 2 2010. I'm looking forward to passing this book to her.
