An Imaginative Look on Dinosaurs in the 21st Century

  • Apr 7, 2010
"Dinos From Space" is a sure fire winner for children. It brings together many of the things that light up a child's imagination.... dinosaurs, space ships, and the a philosophical look at our modern busy life - but I bet your kids will focus on the space ships and dinosaurs! There are may things to enjoy within the story

- The illustrations (original water colors) are out-of-this-world (pun intended) - They offer vibrant colors while and will do a great job of bringing smiles to young faces. Parents will also enjoy the artistic quality to the illustrations - well worth the price of the book.

- The rhyme scheme is very catchy and humorous - it brings thoughts of Shel Silverstein.

- I liked the message a little more than my wife. The message is that life has gotten so complicated that the dinosaurs wish they had never returned to earth. My wife thinks that is a little too strong of an indictment on today's society but I disagree. I think that it is important that we teach our children that it is ok to take life at a slower pace.

Final Verdict - Highly recommended for children ages 3-10 - I love the rhyme scheme and the illustrations - buy with confidence

About this book

This humorous story by Michael Treni and illustrations by Kristin Olivo explores what might have really happened to the dinosaurs some fifty million years ago. Instead of perishing, highly intelligent dinosaurs use interplanetary space travel to escape the destruction of their world. They return to earth only to find it inhabited by inconsiderate humans.
