Evanovich Keeps Readers Chuckling in Stephaine Plum's Madcap Crime Adventures in Fearless Fourteen
  This reviewer grew up in Pennsylvania living for the first twenty-one years of  life including college days. Later the first professional job held was at Bell Telephone Labs in Holmdel, New Jersey. Still later, attending graduate school at the  University of Pennsylvania, right across the Delaware River from the main character in the novel, Stephanie Plum's home town of Trenton. One can really identify with the background for this novel.   …

Janet Evanovich follows another novel in the Stephanie Plum series. The novel starts with Stephanie, bounty hunter, in Loretta's apartment. Stephanie has always known Loretta, the latter skipped court for robbing a liquor store. Yes, I know crazy how a New Jersey single mother would be robbing a liquor store. That type of characters are what makes Evanovich novels so entertaining to read but at the same time easy reading as it is straight forward and silly. After being released, Loretta …

It begins as many of these do with Stephanie Plum out on a bond recovery. This time it is Loretta, suicidal, and in her pajamas in her kitchen while Stephanie tries to convince her everything is going to be okay. Loretta wanted a Tom Collins as she was thirsty so she held up a liquor store. She made bail and missed her court appearance and now has to leave her home and go back to jail. My number finally came up at the library for Janet Evanovich's Fearless Fourteen. Since I enjoy the Stephanie Plum series, it didn't sit around the house long before I picked it up and started into the latest adventures of Ms. Plum and all of her surrounding characters. The novel is a decent installment in the series... Not one of the best, but I did enjoy the read and the plot.    Plum ends up babysitting a punk gamer when she picks up his mom on a bond violation. Pros: Bob the dog is always fun, a potato gun.     Cons: Lack of get-up-and-go, overall just "meh."     The Bottom Line: Once you put it back on the shelf it's easy to forget it's there, or that you even read it.
