Excellent Well Written Thriller by a Talented Writer!

This is the perfect book to fill in a lot of time when you are idle. Bella and Martin a pair of lovers are hired by Mona to get incrimating evidence on a Government Official (Alex) who is in line to be the next British Prime Minister. The plan works but Mona virtually keeps all the money to herself and gives Martin and Bella a pittance. The two realize they could have gotten more money and hatch their own scheme to blackmail Alex. Little do they know that Alex's brother (Charles) is a real bad ex-government agent and doesn't like his brother messed with. On top of this, Bella's ex-husband (Joey) has just gotten out of jail and comes looking for Bella.

Joey's ex-partners think that Joey ratted them to the authorities and is trying to keep the money they got in a bank heist to himself so they break out of prison looking for Joey. All these stories will converge and Martin and Bella are in the midst of everything. The book sucked me in from the start and never let go. Even though it has a lot of British dialogue and people act way more "British" than "American," it doesn't detract at all from the tale, in fact, it makes it more enjoyable. All the characters in the book are fairly simple but the author has an amazing talent for making the reader so interested in their doings.

The book is loaded with a lot of kinky sex but even that is handled fairly tactfully by the writer. The only thing that kept me from giving the book a full five stars is that Martin and Bella are the main characters of the book and though they are the least "evil" of the characters, they are still essentially bad. This reminded me of the main characters of the film About the Benjamins.

It's true. Like you never feel embarassment and he doesn't linger on things.

I don't know about that. When Bella asks Sir Alex if enjoys the taste of what he just sampled, it almost turned my stomach.

About this book

Leader of the Opposition, Sir Alex Bolton, is being blackmailed after erotic dancer Bella uses a secret spy camera to take pictures of him performing a kinky sex act in the shower. But people in high places are determined to ensure that nothing prevents Sir Alex from becoming Britain's next prime minister. Exotic dancer Bella is shacked up with her new lover, Martin, who works as doorman at the club in Soho where Bella dances...and Martin has been telling Bella they should move in case her bank robber husband Joey either gets out of nick early or sends some friends round to the flat. Then they discover-too late for their own liking-that Joey has done a deal with the police to win an early release from prison. What's more, the two fellow bank-robbers he ratted on-Ricky Red and The Dog-are out to get him and the missing £3,000,000 stash, and they aren't messing around. Joey tries to kill Martin, and then Bella's shot onstage at the Revuebar, in Soho. Chief Inspector Preston and his sidekick, DS Johnson, are called in to investigate what threatens to become a PR nightmare, as bodies start to pile up.
