I've always been interested in the Doors, ever since I heard them for the first time when I was probably an early teen. I've read several different books from several different authors, each with their own perspective. I have to say that this one is, perhaps, the most complete.
This book chronicles Jim Morrison's life from early childhood, or at least, as much as we know about his early childhood. It follows him from Florida all the way to California, the early years of the band, then follows through until his death in 1971.
But this book isn't only for die hard Doors fans. Anyone who has an interest in musical history would find it interesting.
I was actually introduced to this book by a co-worker who was reading it in the break room. When she was done, we swapped books. I gave her my copy of Light My Fire and she gave me this one. I think it was a fair trade!
Hope you enjoy! I know I did!
