This book set in Minnesota starting back in the early 80's is a cute and sometimes funny story about a group of ladies from all different walks of life, that become big time financial investors. The fun part about it is that their money while unbeknown to most of their family and friends actually winds up helping a lot of people in the end.
The book's story line is so easy to read and fun that you really hardly put the book down and before you know it you have come to the end. It was fun to see a little glimpse into each group member and find out why they were they way they were. I had several laugh out loud moments which could't be helped.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick summer read and who want a feel good story. You can't help but like all the characters and while you are insanely jealous of their good fortune (Like why can't we find a way to do that now?) you love them for they never loose their grip on reality.
It's such a simple story plot that to dive into it to much would just about ruin it for most any reader and since this isn't a "serious" read by all means, you want to have some fun left in it. I guess for me personally, while I got to know the characters, I really would have liked to have seen more character development with some of the women in the story. Other than that, it had a great beginning, some nice meat and potatoes in the middle and that great feel good ending that leaves you smiling. So if you looking for something fun to read this summer, I definitely recommend this book!
