To Boldly Go on a Zombie Killing Fest...

  • Aug 18, 2010
I will admit it. I love Star Trek and I love Zombies. Who doesn't? When I saw this was a combination of the two I had to have it. I was not disappointed. But this story is not just a thoughtless excuse to kill Star Trek fans that have become zombified, it is a very well thought out story.

The main character is named Jim, which will make any Trek fan smile. At one time a happy sci-fi fan, two tours in Iraq have turned him cynical. He is now a guard in a hotel that is hosting a Star Trek convention. However, events start turning odd, and Jim quickly realizes that the dead are not staying dead, and that spells zombie trouble. Add to this a booth model dressed as Slave Leia from Star Wars, Jim's sister dressed as an Andorian, and a megalomaniac game designer and you have a recipe for ultimate fun.

There are many elements that will thrill any geek. The zombies reminded me very much of the Keepers on Babylon 5, there are Star Wars quotes, and many Star Trek elements both common and geeky. I loved them all. Even the ending made me smile brightly. If you are a zombie fan and not into Sci-Fi, you will have fun as well, as there is plenty of zombie mayhem to go around, and if you are a Sci-Fi fan and not into zombies, you'll love it, too.

Buy this book, and buy this book for any of your friends that are into Star Trek, Sci-Fi or zombies, because you will not want them to borrow your copy, you will be too busy re-reading your copy and waiting for a sequel...

About this book

Journey to the Final Frontier of Sci-Fi Zombie Horror!

Jim Pike was the world's biggest Star Trek fan—until two tours of duty in Afghanistan destroyed his faith in the human race. Now he sleepwalks through life as the assistant manager of a small hotel in downtown Houston.

But when hundreds of Trekkies arrive in his lobby for a science-fiction convention, Jim finds himself surrounded by costumed Klingons, Vulcans, and Ferengi—plus a strange virus that transforms its carriers into savage, flesh-eating zombies!

As bloody corpses stumble to life and the planet teeters on the brink of total apocalypse, Jim must deliver a ragtag crew of fanboys and fangirls to safety. Dressed in homemade uniforms and armed with prop phasers, their prime directive is to survive. But how long can they last in the ultimate no-win scenario?
