Norman Rockwell is one of the best loved and most iconic of America's twentieth century painters and illustrators. His works have for decades graced the covers of many books and magazines. Rockwell's keen eye for the intricacies of everyday American life garnered him a lot of praise and admiration over the years.

This book is an in-depth retrospective of some of the Rockwell's most famous paintings and illustrations, and the photographs that were used in their production. The book reveals the full extent of the meticulousness of Rockwell's approach. The photographs are in their own right a treasure to behold and are an important glimpse behind the scenes of creative process.

This is a very well made coffee-table book that is a pleasure to look through. It is also very educational and it provides a lot of inspiration for anyone who is involved in any kind of creative process.

About this book

Wiki

What a wonderful book this is--and what a rare behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process it provides. So many of the moments we see as impossibly idealized versions of us are in fact us.
