This psychological thriller is one of my favorites and few that make a decent movie pick as well. Kathy Bates certainly depicts the character King seeks to describe in his novel. The pages turn quickly and it is a fairly easy read. King does not disappoint.
I have been a long time reader of Mr. King and along with the book IT this is one that truly scared me. In my opinion it is King's scariest work. The thing I fell in love with the most was the depth and the psychology of the entire cast of characters. Read if you are a fan of the horror genre or just great novels in general.
I saw this movie 25 years ago, shortly after my father died, so I was in a emotionally shaky state. I didn't think I was easily shocked --- I'd seen the Exorcist!! -- but this movie was horrifying to me. To actually think about bringing your loved ones back was unimaginable.
