A book by Eliot Cowan which introduces plant spirit medicine, a healing technique from Central American shamanism< read all 2 reviews
This is a book designed to both get the reader acquainted with the concept of plant spirit medicine, and give the reader the tools to begin his or her own journey into the hidden world of plants. It is not designed to serve as an herbal guide of any sort. Cowan’s labor of love is a must read not only for those who are interested in holistic healing and alternative treatments, but also for those who would like to reconnect with the spiritual world.
Originally trained in acupuncture, Cowan has studied many different healing techniques, including Chinese medicine. He combines all of these with what he learned from studying with shamans in Central America. His book includes plant spirit medicine case stories, descriptions of some of his visions, relevant observations about life in the West, amusing little stories about his shaman teachers, and all are blended together to create a profound message for humanity.
I have read this book several times and absorbed something new each time. I have even gotten it for a friend in her time of need. No matter if you're going through a good time or a bad time, this book will allow you to slow down, get a different perspective of everything and feel connected again. I encourage you to heal yourself through the love of plants!
