Authors can't rely solely on their publishers to do the marketing for their book especially self-publishers. They need to take it in their own hands and the Internet simplifies the task. Steve Weber is a seasoned author and over the years has learned a great deal about marketing online. In this book, you gain the benefit of his years of trial and error. I think that the reality of the writing world can be extremely overwhelming for new authors. It takes a great deal of courage to start writing in the first place. Finishing the text can take every ounce of commitment, time, and energy available.
