A Pokemon DP Battle Dimension episode adapted for an early reader book

Pokemon DP Battle Dimension: The Secret of the Tower is a book based on the Pokemon episode, "The Keystone Pops!," which is part of the Pokemon DP Battle Dimension season.

On the front cover, this book is billed as being a "Level 3 Growing Reader" book. The publisher claims that this means there are 700-1500 words in this book, and that it is being aimed at first through third graders. It's 32 pages long, and it has a combination of text and pictures. There is a definite change in writing style between this book and the earlier book adaptations of Pokemon episodes done by Tracey West. The dialogue doesn't feel nearly as choppy, and it seems to be written at a slightly higher level than the earlier adaptations.

The pictures included in the book are all screenshots that come from "The Keystone Pops!" Unfortunately, the screenshots still have a very blurry look to them. However, since the drawings were not utilized for this book, it gives the book a much more unified feel than the previous Pokemon episode adaptation books did. Overall, it feels like more effort had been put into producing Pokemon DP Battle Dimension: The Secret of the Tower than when the publisher was producing the earlier Pokemon adaptations.

With this book, I appreciated that the author and publisher could write the adaptation in a way that makes it easier for the intended audience to read the story. I also appreciated that they found a way to write the dialogue so it feels a little less choppy. And I'm also very happy about the consistency of the artwork in this book.

It's starting to become a little harder to track down a new copy of this book. However, if you have an early reader at home who is a fan of Pokemon, I would suggest purchasing a copy of this book if you can track it down. It's a book we first purchased when my middle child was in early elementary school, and he enjoyed it. His younger sister, who is an early reader and is also a Pokemon fan, has been enjoying it as well.

I wrote this review after reading a copy of this book that my husband and I purchased for our children.

This sounds like a good purchase for children.
