Wow! I was emotionally on edge from page one of this book! I could not put it down! I couldn't even wait to get to each next page.
I would definately recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and mystery filled with twist after twist. And sense she is a medical examiner, it's got some CSI flare to it.
She is so awesome at describing everything, from her home and what she is cooking for dinner to a brutal crime scene. I always feel as though I am there with her, seeing, smelling, tasting what she's describing.
In this story, women are being killed. Scarpetta suspects it's the same person but is having trouble tying any of the murders together. From beginning to end, it's bizarre, discusting and wonderfully written.
This book was the first in the Scarpetta series. It does a wonderful job of introducing her, almost as if you've known her all along. The same goes for the rest of the characters. I got sort of an emotional attachment to all of them, which kept me reading all her books for that wonderful familiarity.
