Gordon Ramsay : Roasting in Hell's Kitchen Gordon Ramsay For "foodies" Roasting in Hell's Kitchen isn't going to be a page turner. But this autobiography in the infamous Gordon Ramsay's own hand is a trip through his tumultuous and ever changing challenges in his life that has led him to be one of the top chef's in Britain's history.
A rocky childhood with an overly attentive, yet loving mother and an alcoholic father whose claim to fame was the ability to lose almost every job he had the opportunity to have toss in a drug addicted brother, Gordon Ramsay tells the tale of his life with the same arrogance that has made him the success he is today.
His ability to make you cheer for his successes through the hard shell makes this book an interesting read, something to laugh about, cheer for and often just read through with amazement at his writing style, a conversational ‘sit down' as the Brit's say. Reading this book gave me a reason to believe that hard work, passion and a touch of arrogance can go a long way, if you have the bullocks that Gordon Ramsay does.
There are a few mentions in the book about his favorite recipes or cuisine style yet this is NOT a recipe book.

Hi! Thanks for the kind comments! If your BF likes Ramsay and you aren't sure about him yet. See if you can find on BBC "The F Word" it is his British show and I tell you ...it is a much clearer image of him as a chef and a man. Not so much the yelling, screaming arse! It is a really cool show! I think you can find clips on youtube as well.

I've always been intrigued by "Kitchen Nightmares," but Gordon Ramsey's always seemed like a caricature to me, more TV personality than personality. Still, my BF loves this guy, and reading this bio seems like a way to crack that exterior just a bit. I might give this a try. Thanks for the book rec!
