Quarterback Eli Manning Earns The MVP Award For Sure

The Giants did it again. They beat the Patriots for the second time in recent history
with this 2012 Superbowl win. Eli Manning won the MVP predictably. The award
was well earned after spectacular performances tonight and during the playoff season.
Eli played better tonight. He took more risks by throwing the ball for longer passes
and more completions. Mario Manningham #88 made a spectacular game changing
catch which may have turned the tide of the game. Victor Cruz performed well along
with a number of other team players.

The Giants performed better in the first quarter by coming ahead and staying ahead
for a long period throughout the game. The Patriots surpassed the Giants but could
not hold onto a slim lead. The Giants had lots of injuries and backup players were
a factor but not a decisive one. The injuries were the reason why the Giants did not
win by a wider margin. Originally, I thought that the win would be Giants 34 Patriots 23.

The Giants played a spectacular season but there are lessons to be learned for
the next season. Eli has to take more chances in getting the ball into the air for
longer passes more often. In addition, he needs practice in releasing the ball
sooner to avoid pileups on the quarterback. Despite some weak areas, Eli is still
a top tier quarterback with a lot of experience and solid achievements. Congrats
on a job well done. I'm sure NYC will hold a Broadway Ticker-Tape Parade for the Giants
with all of the accoutrements including speeches by Major Bloomberg and a host of other
admirers throughout New York and the Metropolitan Region. All is well that ends well.

The big day is here. The Giants v. Patriots could be a tough game but I hold out for the Giants 34-23.

Victor Cruz has produced some game winning plays and Eli Manning has been a good passer and quarterback. He has kept the Giants advancing in some very tough games, lead in comebacks and has reasonable controls over the defense. A strong case can be made for the MVP to go to Eli Manning.

The Giants could improve their Superbowl performance starting with Eli Manning. He needs to take
some chances in getting the ball into the air more often. The strategy of advancing the ball in small
increments worked in the last game; however, the winning result in overtime was too close for comfort.

Eli took an enormous beating last game and still survived the experience. To come out unscathed, Eli needs to release the ball quicker. In addition, the team will need good backup in case of major injuries to key players. The Giants have performed mediocre in the first quarter of recent games. Yet, they have pulled ahead eventually. The last game was a real seesaw- right through the overtime minutes played.

The Patriots are favored narrowly. The N.E. tight end Gronkowski suffered a right ankle sprain
and his effectiveness is less than 100%. On balance, the Giants want the win more and I believe
that this desire will drive them to the win. Lastly, Eli has played magnificent ball and his focus
seems to be improving with each game.

Eli took a considerable beating in the last two games and still prevailed. He took more chances in getting the ball into the air for longer passes. He was voted MVP. He is on the winning Super Bowl team. How could he not be top tier? I think that he has to do a few things to solidify his position. 1) Take more risks in throwing longer passes 2) Release the ball sooner so that he doesn't get swamped by the opposing team

Thankfully, Eli Manning kept calm and cool in the last quarter when the uncertainty reached a height.

Not perfectly, but the Giants won in a definite nail-biter. I think that the injuries were a factor but not a decisive one.

Lived Up to My Expectations and More!

Who would have thought that this game was virtually a carbon copy of the last three meetings of these two teams? Three times in a row Eli Manning led the Giants downfield for a comeback lead with two minutes left and three times in a row Tom Brady tried to stage a last second drive that went to the bitter end. Beantown has a new nemesis.... And it's Big Blue!

The New York Giants and New England Patriots both surprised me. Not only in their performance last night at Super Bowl XLVI, but their overall performance coming into the post season. Neither of these teams looked the way they did in the regular season. Great game from beginning to end. I knew this was going to be a close game and it definitely was, but as good as this game was, it's not as great as the Giants miracle run. New York Giants - Super Bowl Champs. Yeah!

What can I say. This is a rematch from 2008. In that time the two teams have met 3 times and all games were back and forth events going down to the wire. I expect no less from this game.

I definitely didn't see this coming, because I thought both teams were getting bumped and they some how managed to slip by their toughest competition. I'm really looking forward to this rematch and I hope the Giants pull off another miracle run. Go Giants!

This game was a real nail-biter, even if it was a little bit sloppy at times. I don't know how there were calls on each team for too many men on the field. I think too many people are talking about Mario Manningham's big catch - yeah, it was awesome, but big catches like that happen virtually weekly in the NFL. Tom Brady lost, but he did play a very good game.

I don't know what it was, but this Super Bowl was just dull to me. Glancing at the score, one would believe that the game was a nail biter, but the only suspenseful moment for me was the toss up Brady chunked to end the game. I'm glad that the Giants won, but I preferred the previous Super Bowl contest between these two to this one.
