A Great Reason to Give Thanks

  • Nov 22, 2010

The illustrations in this book are in the style of a Norman Rockwell family portrait. It tells the tale in and easy rhyme, not sing song, as everyone is arriving for the day and the excitement at hand. Once they sit at the Thanksgiving Day table each person gives a reason for giving thanks.

All along the young boy narrator is trying to figure out how he can say something unique. He doesn’t give thanks for his possessions, food or family but something much closer and meaningful – God. The book ends with the quote from Colossians 3:17. I was not familiar with the author who the jacket flap says has written over 400 Christian books. Now I know a new author I need to learn more about.
