Excellent Young Girl Series

  • Jun 16, 2010

One Christmas I got a box set of the first four books which had just came out.  Since then, I have read almost every single one in the series.  That was about 15 years ago and I am still reading some new ones.  They are a great series for any little girl to get addicted to.

There are so many different stories and scenarios that I would always wait to see what they were going to get into next.  They became like my friends.  The different girls all have different personalities as well as different kinds of households so it is easy to find someone who can relate to how you are.

Besides the basic book series, there are also mysteries, super specials, and a plethora of other books to find out information about your book friends.  At one point there was a fan club devoted to the book with movies, dolls, and even a board game.  This is a definite series for any girl who dreams about becoming 13 and getting to do cool stuff to read.

Oh, I oh-so loved this series, too! And like you, I pretty much read every book in it. In fact, I still own most of it -- my mom kept getting them for me up till about a hundred'ish, plus some special editions. I'll be passing them down to my little girl. Thanks so much for sharing this great review, Danielle!

I remember getting 'The Babysitter's Club book at a local book store in my home town when I was 13 years old. That day I went home and started to read the book. I didn't realize I was meeting my best friends for the next 3 years. I met Kristy, Claudia, Stacy, Mallory, Jessie, and MaryAnn that day and I still can picture what they look like. These girls became my best friends during my 'awkward' years. If I was feeling down I turned to these girls to cheer me up. I remember staying …

When i read this book I really felt like part of club. I felt really excited as learned more about everyone and how the club had ended up happening. I learned how they had despite their different backgrounds, upbringings and their current ways of living brought them so close together.   This is a very exciting book for tweens it shows them the world through their own eye's, it shows common problems how they are overcome, It shows how coming to a new neighborhood is terrifying …

The Babysitter's Club series revolves around seven girls (and later nine girls) who have formed a babysitting agency.  The girls are junior high age.  Some of the issues faced in these books are: children with medical problems, divorce, remarriage, dealing with step-siblings, dealing with emergencies, first crushes, first boyfriends, and dealing with prejudices.  Ann M. Martin handles these issues great.       As the series progressed you learn more and more …

Around about the time I first discovered this book series I was helping my grandmother babysit.  With each new book you felt like you knew the girls personally. I think I even kept a few books. I will see and pass them along to my daughter who wants to babysit to earn money and see what she thinks.
