Nothing like a copy of a Mad Magazine book to take your mind off of the difficulties that life is throwing at you. I recently had minor surgery on my back and needed something to occupy my mind after the local anesthetic wore off. I grabbed this book and the geniuses at Mad had my mind engaged in stupid thoughts instead of a sequence of "Ouches." Movie clichés, major sports, modern motorist practices, gun owners, automakers, television commercials, bosses, employees, boxing movies, double-talk and rich kids are the major areas satirized in the manner that only Mad can do. It can leave you in stitches, unless of course you are like me and already have them. It didn't take me long to read this book, but while I did the pain in my back was nonexistent.
