I have been a huge fan of the writing of H. P. Lovecraft since junior high. His writing style may leave something to be desired, but his concepts and mythos are wonderful to behold. I have all of his stories in Arkham House editions, and I have most of the Chaosium series of stories based on his mythos. This graphic novel is VERY different, though. I guess it would be best to be familiar with the basis of the mythos before you try this one. Nodens is a hunter, and is supposedly seeking to hunt Cthulhu. However, Nodens has bigger game in mind than Cthulhu, and how he intends to find this game for the hunt is a rather long story. I have volumes one through four and I'm eagerly awaiting volume 5. Not quite traditional Lovecraft, but certainly well worth reading. It takes no more liberties with the traditional than, for instance, Brian Lumley's Titus Crowe series. If you have any interest in the Cthulhu mythos, give it a try
