This is not a story for the conservative or close-minded. Nikki Six shares his raw pain and struggles of addiction through his most trusted confidant, his diary. I would reccommend this reading to anyone who has struggled with addicition or anyone who wants a true look into the fast life of a struggling rock star.
Parts of this book made me laugh, others made me cringe, and others made me grateful to be sane and sober. I was especially enthralled in the story because I am familiar with the struggles of addiction and recovery. To hear Nikki Six's innermost thoughts, fears, and battles in his own words makes this book one you can't put down. This is an honest look at the fall taken by a famous rock star due to drugs... and his choice to pick himself up and live life differently.
Since this is written in a diary format, it is very informal. There are excerpts from Nikki Six's song lyrics added in here and there, as well as little dark drawings and actual photographs. In addition to the excerpts from the diary of Nikki Six, there are comments and writings from the other characters in Nikki's life who were either involved or close to him.
This book is dedicated to alcoholics and drug addicts who have the courage to try to recover. I think it is amazing for someone so high profile who has struggled so hard, to put himself out there like this in the hopes of helping others. A definite must read in my opinion.
