Science fiction comedy series created by Douglas Adams
< read all 64 reviews The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (HGG) is one of my favorite books of all time. Douglas Adams did an amazing job writing this book. His cleverness is evident on every page of this book and as you read further and further through the book you become in awe at the skillful mastery and planning of Adams.
If you have seen the movie, throw out everything you know about the book already. The book, as is usually the case, is far better than the movie. When I first read the book in eighth grade, I breezed through it in several days. That is how good and fascinating it is.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in science fiction and clever storytelling. Some day this will be considered a classic. Also exciting is the presence of all of the other novels in this series. You can follow the characters as they continue to explore the galaxy. The first book was my favorite in the series but I think that they all have something to show for themselves. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
