"The Last Song" was a wonderful book. Nicholas Sparks knows how to write in a way that evokes a full range of emotions. This one had me happy, angry, frustrated, and even crying at certain parts. There are not many books that bring me to tears or that have me feeling for the characters, but this story definitely did.
I loved the setting, the characters, and the entire plotline. With this book I could really picture the seaside location, their home, and I could really "get to know" the characters. I also think this story taught many valuable lessons. I just really enjoyed reading it.
I recommend this book to anyone who asks. I absolutely loved it. The only thing I didn't like about it is that they had Miley Cyrus play the main character in the movie. Even though I have not seen the movie, I couldn't stop picturing her as the girl, and I did not like that. She is just not someone that I enjoy watching and she did not seem to fit the role in the book. So that was the one down point for me with this book.
Overall though, Nicholas Sparks really did an amazing job. He is a genius author and really knows how to speak to his audience. I loved this book and I will definitely continue to read his books in the future.

Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.
