The Sleeping Doll

Jeffery Deaver

In The Sleeping Doll  Kathryn Dance, Jeffery Deaver's favorite California Bureau of Investigation agent  and heroine of this New York Times Best Seller latest smash book. If you like heart pounding excitement, over the shoulder- don't turn off the light books than The Sleeping Doll  is a strong choice.

When a convicted killer and previous interrogation subject, Daniel Pell escapes and heads on a mission of revenge. This isn't your ordinary escape for the convicted murderer; the sole survivor of his crime is still alive. While living a sheltered life since the crime that shook the town and took her entire family, Theresa Croyton had lived oblivious to the danger that is on the hunt for her.

To the rescue is Kathryn Dance and her crew of highly intelligent and often humorous investigative professionals, convincing the family of the survivor that the information is useful and could end up saving a lot of people's lives, herself included. The plot is fast paced, all taking place within a week.

Jeffery Deaver has written many novels that will enthrall and intrigue the reader including The Bone Collector  and yet with each book his story lines become more thought provoking, labyrinthine and fascinating.

Nice review. I'm a big, big Jeffrey Deaver fan. Have you ever read his collection of short stories, Twisted?

Most thriller fans will pick up a Michael Connelly novel expecting that it's going to be about Harry Bosch. Similarly, most Jeffrey Deaver fans (and I expect there's a whole pile of crossover), will pick up one of his novels expecting a story about Lincoln Rhyme and his erstwhile lover, Amelia Sachs. So it's a very pleasant and unexpected surprise to be treated to a new heroine in Kathryn Dance, an investigator with the California Bureau of Investigation who is known for her near psychic interrogation …
