So many ways to cook with Tabasco! Who knew?

  • Feb 18, 2009
I'm not a huge fan of Tabasco sauce or any other hot sauce for that matter.  However I think my dislike for the product comes from the fact that I just don't know how to use it in different foods.  When I hear the name Tabasco, I think chili, bloody mary's and cajun food.  Yes, I am ignorant when it comes to hot sauce.

I recently received this cookbook from a friend and was surprised to find so many great recipes that include Tabasco.  From soups to salads, to veggies and entrees, apparently you can use it in everything!  The recipes are easy to follow and all include what I call the "heat" scale, or according to the book, the piquancy scale which is "an agreeable pungency or stimulation of the palate, not just heat or bite".

I haven't tried any of the recipes as of yet but once I do, I'll let you know how they turn out.   Small and compact, just like the Tabasco bottles, this cookbook looks like it could be a keeper.

What did you think of this review?

I had no idea that a Tabasco cookbook existed, and as a Tabasco addict, it looks like I'm going to have to pick up a copy! Thanks for sharing :)

I'm so excited to hear what you will cook up and discuss on here! I'm not that big of a fan of Tabasco when compared to other hot sauces like Tapatillo, but I still like its unique flavor.
