This is one of the best thrillers I have read in a long time. It is the type of book with twists and turns throughout and leaves you guessing until the end.
Max Hollman is not your typical hero as he is an ex-bank robber who is let out of prison after 10 years. He finds out that his son was a cop and was murdered a day before Max was let out along with three other cops who were apparently ambushed. Max decides to to investigate but gets put off by the police who are investigating. With no where else to go Max enlists the aid of Catherine Pollard, the FBI agent who had arrested Max. The two make an unlikely pair as Catherine is leery of the ex-con and Max doesn't think she will ever trust him. The more they pry into the murders things start to happen around them and it obvious that someone or some group is trying to silence them. The plot then seems to grab you and not let go.
A real page turner!
