The Vampire Diaries - It is between two brothers

The Vampire Diaries have long since been one of the famous works by L.J. Smith. So much that after he wrote the first 3 parts, due to popularity and demand, he was inspired to continue. It is AGAIN about vampires but this is not ONLY about them this time. It is also about Mystic Falls, a place in Virginia and its history of vampires. It all started when Katherine, a vampire turned two brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore into vampires because she wanted to have them both for herself. But her plans didn’t turn out like she wished and all the vampires of Mystic Falls were locked and they were out of the reach of anyone. After hundred years, Stefan Salvatore returns to Mystic Falls and so does Damon to see who Elena is. Elena is just another mortal but looks exactly like Katherine. Stefan and Elena start loving each other. Why Damon is here? For Elena or Katherine? This is all that this books starts with and what comes ahead is the Vampire Diaries.  This is not just a love story but it is full of suspense and the way the writer has described everything sets a new benchmark for the vampire books.

An excellent pre-twilight vampire series!
This is a combination of books one and two of L.J. Smith's series entitled The Vampire Diaries. The name may ring a bell since it has recently been picked up by CW as a TV series. I havn't actually seen the show so please feel free to correct me if i am wrong but from what i can tell from the previews and still photos of the cast it really does not follow the story being told in the books. One thing that people (especially young people) must keep in mind when reading this book is that it …

the author has made her vampires different than the classical myth, but they are interesting well developed characters, and a little drama and suspence to go along with it.

Not bad for the cliche drivel that it is.

If you like the tv series, don't read the book. The characters are very opposite of who they are on tv. I love the tv series a lot more than the book.

The Awakening - Book 1
Novel: Vampire Academy: The Awakening (Vol 1) Author: L.J. Smith Short summary: Boy is a vampire. Girl is a prom queen (literally). They fall in love. His past comes back to haunt them. Chaos ensues.    With the CW constantly playing commercials for the new Vampire Diaries, I figured I'd go out and get the book. How bad could it be, right? Right?   Pretty bad, it turns out.  I'm not going to say it's awful, because it’s not, but it’s just…not very good.  …

I never saw the twists coming but when they came I thought, "I should have seen that coming!" Which is the makings of a great story! I love the growth and change and challenge of the characters here, as well as the addition of a few new faces. Definitly my favorite book (or two books) of the series. Impossible to put down and leaves you wanting more!
