Never did read the book although I saw the movie which featured Robin Williams many years ago with my grandmother. After it ended, eyes aglitter with liquid appreciation I said to her, "I liked that movie a lot". She replied, "I hated it".

This book is soo amazing.I didnt think about reading it till one day i just took it off my sisters shelf, i mean i saw the movie and cried but the books details about how much Chris loved Ann was just phenomenal! Its amazing how much two people love each other. It also made me evalute if the people i know, know that i love them it helped me understand you could get lost if they dont know that; you may not exsist to them anymore.Well its an excellent  book/journey about life after death and …

I love the movie, and the book is even better. Although I question the author's judgement in using religious texts as scientific evidence.

This is about the fifth or sixth Matheson book I have read and by far it is the best! What set Matheson apart is his excellent prose and compelling characters. In this one Chris, a family man and devoted husband, is killed in a car crash. In scenes reminicent of the hospital scenes in the movie Ghost, Chris's life expires (I am sure Ghost was inspired by this novel). Chris lingers around or should I say stumbles around observing everything including his funeral and tries to contact his loved ones …

About this book

Wiki

A classic novel of love after death, from one our greatest fantasy writers. The premise is deceptively simple: Chris Neilson has died in a car accident, but his life-force--his spirit--is still conscious of this plane of reality. And he is still too in love with his wife, Ann, to completely let go. She in turn does not want to go on living without him, as each regards the other as their soul mate. What Chris will do to get back with Ann after she dies makes for one of the most unusual love stories ever told. Even though the story can be enjoyed as pure fantasy, what makesWhat Dreams May Comeunique is how the author spent years researching the subject of life after death. (An exhaustive bibliography is included to verify this.) And while Matheson admits that the characters are of course fictional, he also states that "With few exceptions, every other detail is derived exclusively from research." Whether, after reading this novel, one believes in life after death is of course a matter of opinion. At least you'll entertain the possibility that, even though we may not live forever, true love can be eternal.--Stanley Wiater--This text refers to theMass Market Paperbackedition.
