Rob Bramhall Architects
is what every client dreams of when they are looking to hire an architect!
Alright, so this review might be a little biased considering I have worked here full time for two years and now I am a part time employee on an as-needed basis. But that also means I know more about the firm than most people! So here is my inside scoop...
While RBA specializes in residential work, they also have experience in hospitality, institutional, and retail projects - both new construction and additions/ renovations. They do everything from site planning, to interior design, space planning, construction documents, and construction supervision. Although they are based in Andover, MA, they have worked on projects throughout the Northeast and as far as Prince Edward Island in Canada and schematic design for a luxury living complex in Utah.
The best thing about the firm in my opinion is that no matter how big the client is, you get to work directly and very personally with the owner, Rob Bramhall. He is usually the one who executes all the designs and meets with all clients to find the solutions to design problems. He has a great sense of architectural taste and can read the client's preferences well. His experience also makes him an expert considering prior to starting his own firm in 1991 he worked at several high profile architectural firms.
Another positive aspect (positive for the client but not always the employees!) is the great attention to detail that this firm is known for. I can't tell you how many times I had to revisit something to get it perfect
and just right. So in a sense, we have design OCD, big time! That means that the architect designs everything from the roof plan to the built-in entertainment center in your home theater. We specify everything from door knobs to molding and the toilet paper holder, so you truly get an all-in-one deal. Everyone that works there loves what they do, so the end result is consistently satisfying to clients.
If you happen to hire Rob Bramhall Architects for a project, most likely I will be the one doing 3D design work for you! Maybe I'll even build you a scale model like the one in photo number two.
