Though Trader Joe's is my grocery store of choice for afford-ability, on a recent stop at Whole Foods I couldn't help but notice two things. First, it isn't as expensive as I previously thought. Most staple organic items that aren't processed or micro-packaged are priced about the same as even a regular grocery store. This may be due to the fact that conventional foods are not immune to inflation lately and organic food are leveling out and became more mainstream. Second, I loved their "I'm local" labels on select items. It was easy for me to find some great products from Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts (that's where I am). The organic chicken was actually cheaper than Trader Joe's, so I do see myself coming here on occasion since there is one much closer to my house.
