Congratulations to the 2010 TEXAS RANGERS who did so much more than lifetime fans like myself could have expected. The celebration at the stadium Wednesday evening rocked! Lets do it again in 2011!!!

Nice QT! Hey, no matter who lost--the fans won. I live in San Francisco (a retired baseball fan since the strike) and it was a great series. Winning doesn't mean a thing when you don't beat a worthy opponent. I respect the fan who sticks with their team through thick or thin. Too many folks jumped on the Giants' bandwagon because everyone loves a winner. Congratulations on the effort and thanks for a great series!

Good for you for sticking by your team! Obviously, you're a true fan and not a fair weather one :)

No Phillies, no Yankees, no exciting games equals bad television ratings. Congratulations to the fans of San Franscisco! You certainly waited a long time!

I'm pulling for the Texas Rangers in this year's World Series. Why? There are actually quite a few reasons:   While I'm usually an NL man and believe that the pitcher should bat just like everyone else, I'm also a Houston Astros fan and a loyal regional sports fan and would rather see the AL's Rangers win instead of those dweebs in San Francisco.  I can't stand Alex Rodriguez.  It was sweet when the Rangers sent the Yankees home for the season with …

About this topic

The 2010 World Series will be the 106th edition of Major League Baseball's championship series. The best-of-seven playoff will be played between the American League champion Texas Rangers and the National League champion San Francisco Giants, and is set to begin on Wednesday, October 27. Unless the series is a sweep and there are no weather delays, the series will go into November for the second year in a row, but just the third time ever. The latest possible ending of the series is scheduled for November 4, barring weather delays. In their respective league championship series, the Rangers and Giants eliminated the 2009 World Series teams, the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies, to advance.

The Rangers' advancement marks the first time that the franchise has appeared in the World Series in its 50-year history, dating back to the club's days as the Washington Senators. The Giants' victory over the Phillies gave them their fourth World Series appearance ever since relocating to San Francisco before the 1958 season; their most recent appearance was in the 2002 World Series, when they lost to the Anaheim Angels in seven games.

The Giants will have home field advantage in the World Series, the first time the National League champion has had home field advantage since 2001, as the NL won the All-Star Game 3–1 on July 13.

For the second consecutive year, Series games will have earlier start times in hopes of attracting younger viewers. First ...
