Have you ever read something and right from jump you are thinking "I don't know about this" only to love by the time it is over? That is exactly what happened to me when I picked this up, at first I wasn't into it but by the time it was over I was a little sad I had to stop reading. I have read this many times since it was first released and each time I love it. This is while being a six issue miniseries really epic, especially from an emotional stand point. The characters here go through a lot and our two leads go through so much more, especially with each other.
We start out with Spider-Man and Wolverine millions of years in the past with no idea how they got there. They live in different areas of the place they are in with Peter trying to figure everything out while dreaming about some woman. Logan on the other hand seems like he has given up hope. But just as the event that lead to the death of the dinosaurs is upon them they are now traveling from time period to period. They have no idea how this is happening but it seems to have something to do with some diamonds, and why is Parker still seeing this woman?
This is one of those books that you will either really like or really hate from what I can tell. Like I said earlier at first I thought this wasn't going to be for me but I was wrong. I really enjoyed this story and wanted to know how all of this happened just as much as our two heroes. The mystery behind that was interesting but in all honesty it was really the relationship between Peter and Logan and how it progressed that really hooked me. Everyone knows that these two never really got along and for most of this book that remains. But they slowly form a bond being in this situation together that grows into them coming together to be blood brothers. It is the ending that really brings this together and got me, add in the thing between Peter and the woman he sees in his dreams, and man I just loved it.
Then of course there is the action in which I don't think anyone would be disappointed here. There are many fights and different ones at that depending on the time period. This of course is all brought to life by artist Adam Kubert. He did an excellent job with this series as the images on every page seem so cinematic. In fact all that along with Jason Aaron's story would make an excellent movie. It could even be an animated feature from Marvel, whatever I don't care because I would own and see it either way. The ending that I was speaking of earlier itself was very cinematic in the way it played out. I really loved that ending and really enjoyed this book.
