How Dare You Talk About Her That Way!

She cooks and cleans. She's smart and responsible. She's got a buttload of friends and knows how to have fun.

She's a sister and a best friend, a wife and a mother. She's committed to family.

She's a doctor and a veterinarian and a surgeon and a nurse. She's a babysitter and a nanny and a teacher. She's a beautician and a fashion designer and a runway model. She's a scientist and an astronaut and an ambassador of peace. She's a gymnast and a dolphin-trainer and an equestrian and a figure skater. She's a rock-star and a pop-star and a musician and a Hollywood actress.

She's worked in offices and zoos and aquariums. She's an animal and a peace activist.

She's a mermaid and a princess and a sorceress.

She's in a VERY committed long-term relationship and maybe one of these days Ken will marry her for real and they'll stay good and married.

She owns a camper and tour bus and a minivan and pony and a space shuttle and a Volkswagon and a little pink Corvette.

So what if she can never stand on her own two feet (literally) because her body is disproportioned? She's managed to be amazingly productive and successful. She's overcome her handicap. Let's add that to the list of Barbie's amazing feats.

Barbie is so much more than you can ever wish to be, so think about all her accomplishments before you go slagging her off, you ninny.

And, also, let's not forget that she has a totally hot bod.

Haha, Barbie has definitely worn many hats.  Have you ever seen this list of East Bay Barbies?

I would love to see you do a review of Ken or Skipper! :P

About this topic

Barbie's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts. In a series of novels published by Random House in the 1960s, her parents' names are given as George and Margaret Roberts from the fictional town of Willows, Wisconsin.

Barbie attended Willows High School and fictional Manhattan International High School in New York City. She has an on-off romantic relationship with her boyfriend Ken (Ken Carson), who first appeared in 1961. Like Barbie, Ken shares his name with one of Ruth Handler's children. A news release from Mattel in February 2004 announced that Barbie and Ken had decided to split up, but in February 2006 they were back together again.[6][7]

Barbie has had over forty pets including cats and dogs, horses, a panda, a lion cub, and a zebra. She has owned a wide range of vehicles, including pink Corvette convertibles, trailers and jeeps. She also holds a pilot's license, and operates commercial airliners in addition to serving as a flight attendant. Barbie's careers are designed to show that women can take on a variety of roles in life, and the doll has been sold with a wide range of titles including Miss Astronaut Barbie (1965), Doctor Barbie (1988) and Nascar Barbie (1998).[8]

Mattel has created a range of companions for Barbie, including Hispanic Teresa, Midge, African American Christie and Steven (Christie's boyfriend). Barbie's siblings and cousins were also created including Skipper, Tutti (Todd's twin sister), Todd (Tutti's and Stacie's twin brother), Stacie ...
