I'm not a big fan of Bed, Bath & Beyond. Other than the cameo that it had in the movie Click, I never really see myself going in there...for anything. In a secret santa exchange last week, my person wanted something that I assumed I was going to get over at BB&B. I headed over to check things out...mistake.
It was a mess. You walk in and there crap piled from floor to ceiling and smack dab down the middle of the ailes and walkaways. Not to mention that it smells like a warehouse, model home and the perfume section of Macy's all at the same time. I felt a little claustrophobic walking around, and I was soon feeling a migraine come on hearing all the mini TV screens they had at every featured product playing their corny promo videos that were looped! To top it all off they had not one, but TWO, of those music album selection walls where you press the cover of an album and it plays snippets of nature music like birds, the ocean waves or seals playing. HUSH!
Maybe I was driven a little over the edge. Or maybe it was the line at the counter that would soon form a human barricade to any of the aisles. People really buy stuff here?
Plus, BB&B has this wannabe cosmetic section that has shampoos and beauty products. Why?! Go to target where it's cheaper, and more selection. Shop online! The selection online is far greater and far cheaper. I understand the need to look at stuff in person and get a feel for what you're buying, but honestly - I'd rather sit at home and shop from 50 retailers in one night than to give up my Saturday afternoon and be limited to the stuff at BB&B.
At least I found my Secret Santa's gift. :)
BB&B, you're kind of too much. But when I need you, I need you. Plus, you carry the Soda Stream - which I'm highly interested in purchasing. Tone it down until next time, yeah?
