People that read my reviews would probably never guess that I'm a California girl. Am I right? Because isn't California nothing but big cities, beaches, and palm trees? There couldn't possibly be anyone in California that lives a country lifestyle, right? Wrong! That's why I appreciate Brantley Gilbert's new single in a different way than most people. "Country Must Be Country Wide" is an anthem for folks like me who aren't considered "country" because we don't live in the southern United States. Well, guess what? Brantley's right -- country is country wide. I live on a farm, I drive a pickup truck, and I like to blare Hank Jr. as loud as possible. "In every state / there's a station / playin' Cash, Hank, Willie, and Waylon … country must be country wide." Thank you, Brantley Gilbert, for putting real life into words and music. I love this song and I hope country radio believes in it enough to spin the living daylights out of it. He's got the Eric Church swagger with a touch of Jason Aldean's twang. Light up the phone lines, ladies and gentlemen. Let's make this a hit!
