Classic Sci-Fi tale from the author of 2001: A Space Odyssey

This book is the origin of many themes found throughout science fiction when it comes to alien encounters. If you like books that explore the concept of extraterrestrial contact then this is a must read. Clarke doesn't portray a hostile race of aliens hellbent on domination, rather it is quite the opposite. Clarke's ET arrives on earth for a far more sinister, yet glorious future for all mankind.
