New from Corel is Digital Studio 2010, a unique way to easily store photo albums and create dynamic videos from your camera to your tv screen. Included programs: Paintshop Photo Express, Video Studio Express, Win DVD (in my opinion, the best program in the bundle) and DVD Factory which offer photo and video editing, sharing and DVD playback together in one dynamic experience. Innovative techniques allow you to capture and enhance photos, even add music.

Easy-to-use tabs make it easy to organize all your photos and videos in one convenient place. Creating calendars, videos and photo albums is a snap, even if you are inexperienced in photo and video editing. Best of all, you can edit, burn and share your albums and video clips using email, Facebook, YouTube, Gmail and Flickr. You can also print or send to your mobile device.

System requirements: Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83GHz, AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 + 2.0 Ghz or higher recommended; Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP with latest service packs installed; 1GB of RAM (2GB preferred), 128MB VGA VRAM or higher; Windows compatible sound card and DVD-ROM installed (recordable DVD drive for creating DVDs) and online connection for online features.

As a fan of Corel software and current user of Win DVD, the addition of Digital Studio was a no-brainer for me. I love that the features are located in one easy-to-access place. Sharing photos and albums just got incrementally easier. That said, this may not be the program for advanced users. One caveat: I installed this on a machine running Windows XP with no difficulties; other reviewers mention having problems using it on machines operating Windows Vista.

Installation is straightforward; Digital Studio 2010 comes with a 30-day free trial but there are limitations:

Video offers nine styles, not all of which may suit the occasion (some life event themes missing). Still the creation process is simple, just pick a clip, select the "create movie" tab, choose your style, and one additional click and your completed video is ready to use.

No sound editor is included, in addition, any clip rearranging needs to be done manually.

The photo options, particularly photo editing are much more straightforward. Items like photo enhancing are simple and quite good, unless you're used to the delights of Photoshop.
Overall, a fairly robust program for the less experienced user. Worth a try.

I decided to take extra time to review this product, because my immediate reaction to it was dislike. I got this product from the Amazon Vine program a month ago, and played around with it, and I immediately disliked it. I had a knee jerk reaction to write a 1-star review for it, and throw it in the trash. But, because software can be multi-layered, and sometimes if you are patient with it, and give it a chance, you can gel with it, and suddenly "get" it -- so I decided to give it a chance. Sadly, …

I will start this by saying I am a home user and by no means a professional. However, I have been using photo editing products for years and unfortunately am partial to another. With that said, I am always looking for new and different ways to edit pictures etc.   I loaded this when we received it and it took FOREVER! Also, it locks up so frequently that I hesitate opening it.  The photo editing was very basic and might be good for first time editors, but anyone with a little …

Video and picture editing programs are great, trouble is trying to find one in the vast sea of them, well Corel is always a good brand and I haven't been disappointed with it yet. This is a fun and easy to use program that lets the user tweak and perfect pictures without doing major surgery on them. I haven't used the video edit yet but for pictures this a real pleasure to use.

This is not software for highly-skilled pros. In fact, if you have some elaborate editing plan in mind, you are going to be frustrated by it. It isn't designed for you.    If you want to be able to put together fun family videos and slideshows, share your hobbies on YouTube, or add video to your blog, this is exactly what you need. Digital Studio lets you make simple edits and fun effects quickly and easily.     I had a little trouble with installation -- …
