In the olden days when the metric wrench first came out, they were not ratcheting but with a ratcheting metric wrench you can have all different types of wrenches for different types of bolts. If you love Craftsman tools and such as the case with me, then you will love this little set of Metric ratcheting wrenches, this 5 piece set can be found at Sears, K-Mart, and even Ace Hardware for only $39.99. You used to be only able to find these at Sears but, since they have merged with a whole bunch of different store such as K-Mart and Ace Hardware the availability is tremendous. The prices and warranty still remain the same no matter which store that you go to. If you were to purchase any Craftsman product at any of these retailers, you will not need a receipt, just take it back to the store and they will replace the product.

Description
This 5 piece set includes Metric ratcheting wrench sizes; 7 x8, 9 x10, 12 x 13, 14 x 15, and 19 x 21mm wrenches, and an additional storage tray. These wrenches will fit on any metric bolts that are a 6 point hex head. These a 25° angled closed end that has 12 point unlike the traditional 6 pointed wrenches. These have a more universal design to them and are made of chrome plated mild steel to prevent rusting. Each of these wrenches are shiny where it counts, such as where the size markings are at, the rest of the wrench has rivets to hold the wrench together and a little flipper, that when you flip it one way you will be able to loosen and by flipping the lever the other way you will be able to tighten your bolt. They have the size stamped on the both sides, and on both ends. The both ends of this wrench is reinforced to help it to stay working and take a beating. These wrenches are also thicker where it counts and is a little thicker than its predecessor.

Experience
This is an excellent set to keep inside of the glove box of the car for emergencies. All of these wrenches weigh less than one pound a piece, but the plastic storage tray has a lot to be desired. There is only enough room inside of the tray for only the wrenches that come with this set. The tray is the only problem with this set, but little problem with this set can be solved by using a foam cut out, from the year to year they are always creating new tools.

I have been using these for several years and not one time did these ever break or strip the bolt. They are made of hardened steel and are very durable. I have used these with small or large bolts, and the make short work of stubborn bolts and not broken any of the wrenches in the process. I have left these under the hood of the car, kicked them around and even ran them over accidentally, started the engine up and heard a rattling around, when I found them, they barely had a scratch on them from hitting the fan blade. If you are using the right size these will usually fit snuggly, then just give  the wrench a big pull or push and you will rip the bolt free of whatever it is holding place.  Each end will give you that little extra angle (25°) that you may need to get into those tight spots. These wrenches are not very long so you will need some clearance to be able to use these to fit your hand around the wrench.

The really nice thing about this set is that they are all 5 wrenches are metric , you may very rarely use these, but when you happen onto one of these types of heads you are happy that you have one of this type of wrenches are inside of your set. By using these ratcheting wrenches they will make quick work of a long job. These are probably the most used part of my tools because they are so handy. A lot of times I do not have time to go through all of my regular wrenches looking for the  exact size, instead I just grab the whole tray, which has an assortment of different metric sizes, and as long as I have remembered to put them away after the last use, I can easily pick out the right size because of the deeply stamped sizes, help make the size stand out more than my old wrenches.

Conclusion
This is not a bad price for a set as versatile as this one, $39.99 may be a little on the high side but the new innovation of the ratcheting  will help make up the difference. You will be surprised at how much you will actually use this set. Just because it is so easy to grab this instead of searching for the exact metric wrench and making sure that you do not have to go back and search again if you are wrong. With the extra added 25° angle will let you make it into those tight spots that you can't make it into with a straight shot. This will be like having a socket wrench at a close distance to the surface of your job. This one tool that is not a normal fixture inside of a lot of mechanics tool boxes, but it is in mine. I would highly recommend that you add these to you repertoire of tools, especially if you want to have a easier go of your job. Five stars for durability and versatility and  ease of use and different types of heads of bolts that these will fit.
