Craftsman Makes Screwing Around Fun With This Auto-Loader Screwdriver

When I first saw this in the magazine, (Craftsman club magazine) it looked like a ratcheting screwdriver, but with a closer look at this, it is a pump action auto-loading screwdriver. As usual, I will have to say that my Dad told me that, if you can't do a job right, then don't do it at all. Plus, my Mother told me that my Dad was always right. This is just what the doctor ordered, for a tool to do different types of jobs. If you love Craftsman tools and such is the case with me, then you will love this auto-loading screwdriver which can be found at Sears, K-Mart, and even Ace Hardware for only $15.99. You used to be only able to find this only at Sears but, since they have merged with a whole bunch of different store such as K-Mart and Ace Hardware the availability of their tools is tremendous. The prices and warranty still remain the same no matter which store that you go to. If you were to purchase this particular tool made by Craftsman, at any of these retailers, you will not need a receipt, just take it back to the store and they will replace the product.

Description
This screwdriver set includes 6 screwdriver bits. These bits include P1, P2, slotted ¼, 3/16", and 1/8", and one T-6 Torx screwdriver bits. All of these bits are made of hardened steel to prevent from breakage. You should never have to touch any of these bits once you install them inside of this screwdriver and this fits well inside the palm of your hands. This pump action screwdriver has a clear plastic cover which allows you to see the bit inside and line up the particular bit with the red arrow, so that it can be ejected into the chamber that allows the bit to come out for you to use it. The handle is black in color and has soft rubber coating to fit in the palm of your hand.

Experience
This is an excellent screwdriver to keep inside of the top of your tool box and this comes preloaded. All of these bits and screwdriver together weigh less than 0.5 pounds. I have been using these for several years and not one time did these ever break or strip the bolt. They are made of hardened steel and are very durable. You can use this with all different types of bits, because of their small size they are liable get lost if you do not keep them in a secure place. I have left these under the hood of the car and they were never to be seen from again. If you are using the right size bit, these will usually fit snuggly inside of the screw head, then just give the screwdriver a big twist and you will rip the screw free of whatever it is holding in place. Each of these bits will give you that little extra different type of versatility that you may need to get the job done, but since these are small you will need extra room for your hands and you will also have to make room so you do not nick your knuckles.

The really nice thing about this set is that they are all interchangeable , you may very rarely use these, but when you happen onto one of these types of heads, you are happy that you have one of this type of bits are inside of your set. These are probably the least used part of my tools when I work on the car, because they are so small. A lot of times I do not have time to go through all of my regular screwdrivers and looking for the exact size and type, instead I just grab the this auto-loading screwdriver, which has an assortment of different bits already loaded in it, and as long as I have remembered to put them away after the last use, I can easily pick out the right size. If you are a handyman, this works really well inside of your house. This works especially well for electrical jobs. But you can also keep an extra rack of 30 or 40 bits around so that you can swap them out with a bunch of them instead one at a time. With the handle being made of rubber you can also get a heck of a grip and twist a screw with a minimum amount of torque that it takes with a normal screwdriver.

Conclusion
This is not a bad price for a set as versatile as this one, $15.99 may be a little on the high side for such a small tool, but the size and uniqueness of these screwdriver will help you out in a pinch. You will be surprised at how much you will actually use this set inside of your house. Just because it is so easy to grab this instead of searching for the exact screwdriver and making sure that you do not have to go back and search again if you are wrong. With the extra bits that are in this set, and the fact that they will fit into your hand, this will let you make go a lot quicker than you ever envisioned them to be. This is one screwdriver that is not a normal fixture inside of a lot of mechanics tool boxes, but it is in mine. I would highly recommend that you add this to your repertoire of tools, especially if you want to have a easier go of your job. Five stars for durability and versatility and ease of use and different types of bits that this will hold.
