The Danish shoemaker makes great walking shoes, some of which can easily be worn to work, especially during the winter. It is however getting more and more expensive as its brand is getting better known in Asia now, compared to a decade ago when I first bought it in Tokyo. Ecco also makes golf shoes and has now expanded to the U.S. and Canada. It may not be as well known as Clarks but it shoes are comparable imho.

The company was founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy in Bredebro, and has a sales capacity of more than 3,800 branded sales locations throughout the world, selling an extensive range of men's, women's, and children's shoes, and manufactures approx. 17 million pairs of shoes each year. The company is owned by Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak, daughter of Karl Toosbuywho died in 2004.
