I just installed the Echofon Twitter Client for Mac and it worked so well I had to share.  As soon as I launched the app, it was obvious how to use it.  Unlike other desktop apps I've tried that were either were too basic  or were too cluttered, busy and overwhelming, Echofon felt just right.  The interface is incredibly clean and it looks like a typical Mac application so it doesn't feel out of place or unresponsive like TweetDeck had.

Echofon does what all good Twitter apps should... it shrinks urls, allows drag and drop for images and it has a very simple and fast search interface and it supports multiple accounts.  There is a feature called "Highlighting" which is supposed to allow you to enter keywords to be notified of when they appear, but I couldn't get that to work. 

Echofon for Mac is still in beta, so hopefully new features will continue to be added to the application, but as for now, I'm very happy with it.  For those of you who haven't switched to Mac yet, there is a Firefox plugin and an iPhone app, but I haven't tried those yet -- chances are I'll give the iPhone app a dance in an upcoming review.
