A one game wild card playoff is not for baseball; this is a sport where luck can easily play a factor and a more deserving team can just have a bad night and find themselves ousted just like that. Do or die games are for grueling sports like football. MLB needs to fix this broken system by next season.

Even the 2003 Tigers were able to steal games from the Yankees!

Yeah I know, and isn't that something like the worst record ever?

It needs to be ditched or expanded upon. The Houston Astros could have won any one of those games and they have the worst record in the MLB since the 2004 Diamondbacks.

It is just one more expansion of the playoff structure in order to generate more revenue. When the divisional playoffs began, they were the best of five. Then, the argument that the World Series was seven was used to expand them to seven. Then there was the expansion to three divisions and including the wild card. Now, the wild card is a one game playoff and it will not be long before it will be expanded to a three game playoff. Remember that the famous playoff between the Dodgers and Giants in …
