The crime rate is about to seriously drop in my neighborhood (technically it isn't that bad to begin with, but just go with me here) since my son got an Imaginext DC Superfriends Batcave for his birthday.  When my wife and I took him to a few stores to pick out a toy or two that he could possibly get for his birthday, this Batcave was one of the toys he chose.  He already has a couple of Imaginext toys and plays with them fairly regularly, but this one featured the Dark Knight, which meant both he AND daddy could play with this Batcave.

When he opened the present at his party, he was immediately swallowed up by all of his friends who were just as interested in opening the toy as he was.  He took the Batcave into the house (party was on our carport) and began setting it up.  Set up was nothing more than removing a few accessories that were either in plastic casing or ty-wrapped to the playset itself.  There are no stickers to apply to anything and no assembly required.

The playset comes with Batman and Robin action figures, a firing grappling hook, a working elevator that goes up three floors (including a pop-open port on the top floor), a working drawbridge, a hook that raises and lowers, a Bat-cycle, batarangs, a computer station and plenty of other things as well.

The drawbridge, elevator, hook, and some of the doors operate by either using a figure or your fingers on small dials.  The grappling hook, a transmitter dish, and an antenna are all removable and can be placed in different places throughout the Batcave.

One of the best features of this toy is the fact that when you're done playing with it, all of the accessories and the figures can be stored in the Batcave.  You can close up the Batcave, secure a latch, and carry it anywhere you want.  That's a big plus in my book, since my son loves to play with his toys not only in his room, but in the living room and other parts of the house as well.

This Batcave has proven to be a big hit with my son.  He also got a Mr. Freeze toy to go along with his new Batcave, so now Batman has at least one arch villain to do battle with.

Highly recommended!

Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork. I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA. I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.I love my home state … more
