Insurance is a painfully boring subject.  As I recall in the movie "Take The Money and Run" the prison punishment for breaking prison rules was to be locked in a hole for a few days with an insurance salesman.  These days the two characters that seem to bring interest to insurance are the GEICO gecko and Progressive's Flo. 

Her "Hi Welcome to Progressive" is catchy as is her hair with that headband and her hip talk.  She tells you that you are in charge and can build a policy that suits your needs and your wallet.  She only admonishes you when you think that you get an insurance deduction for agreeing with her but then laughs that the same thing happens to her all the time.

Flo doesn't discriminate and has all types of customers from bikers to Men who trade rings.  Flo is one of the most memorable commercial characters in ads and definately a lot more exciting than the Geico Gecko.

I look forward to a new adventure with Flo (lately she has a customer that looks incredibly like Santa Claus with a bulldog that looks like a reindeer!).  Flo's happy manner and pure wit is very catching.  Though I may not be a Progressive customer as a result, the company is doing a lot to make insurance less boring!

Flo has made the insurance shopping experience fun with her witty personality as she tells how we can personalize our policy to fit us and not have some cookie cutter plan that I have been used to in the past. And saving money by getting what I want. So I took her advice and tried bundling my motorcycle and car insurance. It was quick, easy and painless. Sure I didn't get a face-to-face with Flo but my Progressive representative was friendly and helpful. Also patient as I worked my way through the on-line process. Flo's perky and sexy demeanor is a great plus to the insurance advertisment. Thanks Flo. Call me. David B. Des Moines, Iowa
