I previously wrote about free museum days, free summer movies, and now here’s another great free activity to keep the kids busy during the summer—bowling!
Brunswick is offering free bowing every day this summer for kids 12 and under! Just sign up here and you’ll receive your free bowling pass. You can also include your child’s birth month and year to get two free games on their birthday. By the way, this is available in the U.S. and Canada.
AMF Bowling Centers are also offering free bowling for kids in the U.S. and Canada this summer, and you can find details on their website here. This program seems to work a little bit differently, as AMF is offering a very low-cost family pass in addition to the kids' free passes so that parents can bowl with their children at a very reduced cost. (The parents' passes are completely optional, however.)
My family is using the AMF plan, and we are happy so far. You do still pay for shoe rental, which is a couple of dollars per person. It is still a big savings, since the games are free. The bowling alley is also offering kids' meals for $2.99, which we haven't bought yet, but probably will at some point.
Getting my older son off the computer or video games is tough, so this is a good activity for him. We aren't even really into bowling, but it's fun for kids and a good family activity, so I definitely recommend checking it out.
