In Ireland, Friday the 13th is lucky if you tie an onion to your belt and swing a black cat around your head. In Scotland, it's lucky if it lands on a leap year or in a month defined by Brigadoon. Or something.

Interestingly enough, in England, the 13th floor of a building is designated as such, unlike here where it is actually used for clandestine government departments or horror movies.

LOL! that is true...13 was also my Dad's lucky number....

Friday the 13th occurs when the thirteenth day of a month falls on a Friday, which superstition holds to be a day of bad luck. In the Gregorian calendar, this day occurs at least once, but at most three times a year. Any month's 13th day will fall on a Friday if the month starts on a Sunday.
